Voice Hug — Privacy Policy

The App is intended for use by parents and adult caregivers, who set up child profiles for their own children. It is not directed to children for independent use, and children should only use it under adult supervision.

• Account information — when you sign in with email/password, Apple, or Google, we receive your email address and, where provided, your name and profile photo.
• Child profiles you create — a first name (or nickname) and age you enter for each child, used only to tailor story content. We ask you not to enter a child's full legal name or other sensitive identifiers.
• Story content — the prompts, keywords, and stories you generate, and your favorites.
• Voice recordings — if you use voice cloning, the audio sample you record is uploaded and processed to create a synthetic voice used to narrate your stories. See "Voice recordings" below.
• Purchase information — subscription and token-purchase status, processed via Apple/Google and our billing provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Device and usage data — basic technical data needed to operate the App (e.g. app version, error logs).

Voice cloning is optional and only happens when you choose to record a voice. The recording and the resulting voice model are used solely to narrate stories within your account. You can delete a cloned voice at any time in the App, which removes it from our systems. We do not use your voice recordings to train general-purpose models or for any purpose unrelated to providing the App.

We take children's privacy seriously. Child profile data (first name/nickname and age) is provided by the parent/caregiver and used only to personalize stories. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not serve third-party advertising or use the data for behavioral advertising. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, contact lumo@lumo-lab.com and we will delete it.

• To create and operate your account and generate stories.
• To process subscriptions and token purchases.
• To provide narration, including with voices you choose or clone.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• To respond to your requests and support inquiries.

We use trusted service providers to run the App. They process data only to provide their service to us:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage) — accounts, app data, and audio storage.
• Apple & Google — sign-in and in-app purchases.
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
• Text-to-speech providers (e.g. Cartesia, DeepInfra) — to generate narration audio.

Each provider maintains its own privacy practices. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Profile → Delete account), which permanently removes your profile, child profiles, stories, and cloned voices. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — manage that in your device's subscription settings. You can also email lumo@lumo-lab.com to request deletion.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
